Choosing to adopt from your local animal shelter is truly a lifesaving decision! Our staff is prepared to help you find the best suited pet for your family and lifestyle. If you would like to adopt an animal, you may fill out an electronic application, or visit our shelter in person at any time during hours of operation.
Note: Applications are forwarded to our adoption team and will be kept on file for 6 months. Adoptions are first come, first serve. Please come into the shelter to meet with our available animals (Monday through Saturday 10 am - 5pm). If you are interested in placing a short-term hold on a specific animal, please call us at 231-347-2396.
The dogs at Little Traverse Bay Humane Society are eagerly awaiting their chance to join your family. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and come with a 30 day free gift of training support through PetCademy.
Dog Adoption Fees
Medium/Large Breed Dogs (1 year and older): $250.00
Small Breed Dogs/Puppies (younger than 1 year): $300.00
