Your donation helps us say yes to pets in need.
Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has been in operation since 1951 and is a non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization in Harbor Springs, Michigan. We assist the residents of Emmet County, and animals in need throughout Michigan. We receive no government funding and rely on donors to continue our mission and save more lives.
This Giving Tuesday, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is focused on the power of saying "yes" to pets in critical need. As a national day of philanthropy, Giving Tuesday highlights the impact of generosity, and this year, YOUR support will allow us to continue our mission of saving lives by providing care, rehabilitation, and love to animals who need it the most.
Join us in making a difference by helping us say "yes" when it matters most.
Your gifts in action!
Pike’s Story
Pike’s mom Catfish was rescued from Detroit Animal Control after she found herself on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Once she arrived at LTBHS, she gave birth to 10 tiny puppies. The puppies were provided the support they needed from our medical team until they were placed into an amazing foster home. All of them have been adopted, and are growing up in wonderful homes.
Because of your support, we were able to say YES to rescuing Catfish and 21 other dogs that day, who otherwise wouldn’t have had they second chance they deserved.
Kitty Purry’s Story
Kitty Purry was rescued by LTBHS back in April from a hoarding situation in Emmet County. Her and 50 other animals were brought to safety where they received the medical attention, behavioral rehabilitation, and love they needed to find their forever homes.
We were able to say YES to assisting law enforcement with this unexpected large-scale case because of your support. Kitty Purry is now thriving, because of people like you.
Ellie’s Story
Senior Shepherd Ellie came into our shelter from Saginaw County Animal Control in rough shape. In addition to chronic untreated skin issues, she had several medical concerns that required further diagnostics and treatment - chronic skin inflammation, Lyme disease, ear infections, dental disease, arthritis, cataracts, and several masses.
Because of your support, we were able say YES to providing Ellie the treatment she needed to live out a healthy, happy life.
